Freshstream is delighted to be named as the leading GP in the below £1bn AUM category at this year’s Excellence in ESG Awards organised by the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA).
The awards recognise outstanding commitment to responsible investment across the private equity industry, evaluating how firmed have developed their overall ESG frameworks, ESG-led value creation across the portfolio and ESG reporting to investors and stakeholders. Freshstream was selected because of its differentiated approach to ESG due diligence in the pre-investment phase of work.
This is the latest endorsement of Freshstream’s ESG approach, following the firm’s nomination for Real Deals ESG House of the Year in 2023 and 2024.
Key milestones in Freshstream’s ESG journey include:
- Carbon neutral as a firm since inception and across the portfolio since 2021
- Achieved 91% on Preqin’s ESG assessment benchmark in 2024
- Introduction of a standard ESG due diligence approach
- Signatory of UNPRI, and members of iCi and EDCI
